NIC Partners Gives Back: LA Food Bank Volunteer Day

Written by Sean White, CTO | Apr 22, 2025 8:33:42 PM

At NIC Partners, giving back to our community is a core part of who we are. On April 5, 2025, our team volunteered at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, a vital organization dedicated to fighting hunger across LA County.

A team of 13 NIC Partners employees joined other local volunteers at the City of Industry site, where we spent the morning inspecting, sorting, and repackaging donated food items from local drives. Together, our team contributed 52 hours of service, all fueled by a shared commitment to service and community impact.

By the Numbers

Our efforts helped support families across LA County affected by the recent wildfires. The food bank was able to:

  • Assemble 5,407 food kits
  • Inspect & sort 12,140 lbs of food at the Food Rescue Center
  • Repack 9,614 lbs of lemons and 5,418 lbs of mandarins
  • Total produce sorted: 15,032 lbs!

Every item handled brings us closer to alleviating food insecurity, and we’re proud to have played a small role in such an important mission.

Why It Matters

The work of the LA Food Bank reaches over 800,000 individuals every month, and our time on-site gave us a firsthand look at the care, precision, and dedication that goes into supporting those in need. Experiences like these remind us why community engagement is such an important part of NIC Partners’ values.

We are especially proud that this effort supported families impacted by the recent fires, helping ensure that nutritious food gets to those who need it most.

A Continued Commitment

This is just one of many ways NIC Partners supports our community. Whether through volunteering, donations, or local partnerships, we remain committed to making a difference—both in and out of the classroom.

A big thank you to the LA Regional Food Bank and to Tammy Nguyen, Corporate Volunteer Engagement Manager, for organizing such an impactful event.

We look forward to more opportunities to serve and hope to return soon!
